This weekend Jake and I took a well needed day (or half day) off. It was one of those glistening and neon Vancouver days that erase all the rainy ones. We took a long walk through our neighborhood, photo wandered, explored, and listened to Spring. We even stopped mid walk and refueled at Cupcakes on Broadway. They pulled a freshly baked Red Velvet cupcake straight from the oven for us!
Jake’s been working intensely on about a zillion new websites for EA and I’m in the throws of launching our new site at work. I’m passionate about what I do and know how powerful social media can be for a brand like ours. Every extra minute or hour that I can devote to our online guests and to shaping the way our SM program rolls out really, truly makes a difference (at least at this stage in the game). The gratification is so instant that I find it very hard to stop!
But, stop we shall. We decided that Savary Island was a little too far of a drive, so we’ve rented a beach side house (with a hot tub of course) on San Juan Island. Back to the old summer stomping grounds we go! Jake’s never been to the San Juans and I haven’t been back in years. It will be neat to see how much my imagination has actually crafted my memories of the place.
For the week of my birthday we’ll be holed up with books, a bbq, and a few bottles of vino!
