After many fine days in Toronto I hopped the train to Belleville. I somehow managed to nab a first class seat and proceeded to eat and drink myself silly. Those Via Rail attendants really like to keep the glass half full.
Brock picked me up at the train station and we went to see his new loft. He just purchased a washer and a dryer and a car and an adult life. It’s all shocking and lovely. After a few days of lazing we took a roadtrip around the county to wild and exciting destinations like Picton and Bloomsfield. We ate mini-weiners at Buddha Dog and toured the wineries of the region.
We then hopped in the brand new Rabbit and Brock whisked me off to Kingston where I moved into my new pad above the Starbucks!
The first few days of school went by quickly. The other night we attended Red Lobster’s annual ‘Endless Shrimp’ event, and much fun and shrimp was had by all. Primeau consumed well over 100 garlic, coconut, fried, pasta-d, & popcorn shrimps and still had an expression of bliss on his face at the end of the night.
Tim has his cooking hat back on and we’ve been whisking and beating and flambaying like there’s no tomorrow. We made jambalaya, sangria, and borscht, all in the span of less than a week. This weekend beer and pancakes are on the menu - I’m sure we’ll manage a bit of truffle oil in the batter. Pretty impressive for starving college kids, no?
